STARDISCS
StarDiscs brings together astrophotography - created in collaboration with Alfred University’s Stull Observatory - and drawings and prints of stones found on site, collapsing sky and earth into a shared reflective space.
These works embed the geology beneath our feet with the cosmos above, challenging distinctions between what is distant and what is underfoot. The stones and celestial bodies depicted are composed of the same elemental matter; in this sense, we are the subjects of these images.
Related works, including Ground Studies, focus on terrain: soil, pebbles, and organic remains, using edge to edge framing to heighten awareness of what lies beyond it.
Across these series, the works consider scale, time, and perception, inviting viewers to recognize continuity between themselves, the ground they inhabit, and the distant stars.
